Design Consideration for API’s

API - Design Consideration for Client Application

API Purpose API End Point Design Consideration for Client Application
The API is used for submitting PPP Loan Request to SBA POST /api/origination/ If field is optional and user does not have a valid value for that field, those fields may be omitted in JSON input. This API does data quality check and ensure rules related to origination are adhered to.Once Loan application is submitted succesfully, SBA number will not get assigned immediately.
The API is used for checking status of PPP Loan Request submitted to SBA GET /api/origination/ This API supports pagination functionality and if client is designing a UI or batch process to call this API, they may like to have page up and page down feature. Page size is configurable and client can get upto 1000 records in one page. Also this API saves data in cache for 30 seconds after making database call and uses data from cache to send back to client. If client is calling this API without slug id and client’s application takes more than 30 seconds to process complete loan set, its possible that result count may change and order in which data is being send back by API may also change, so client application should handle such scenarios. For Large volume clients, we recommend calling this API end point with slug id as parameter
The API is used to validate addresses of businesses and owners. It is suggested to validate addresses before submitting the information for the PPP loans. GET /api/address_validation PO Box is not allowed for Business address. We will perform an out of band validation of the full address. Using this api will limit the amount of failure and need for resubmission
